The Context

Our client approached us regarding applying for a Tier 2 General visa. The client received a job offer from an accountancy firm that did not have a sponsor licence.

At the time our client approached us, her Tier 5 visa was due to expire within three weeks. We prepared and submitted the application for the sponsor licence; however, the client then returned to her home country prior to the expiration of the visa.

Following her return to Australia, her employer successfully applied for their sponsor licence and they now advised her to prepare her Skilled Worker visa application for submission.

How We Assisted

During the processing of the sponsor licence, the Home Office announced proposed changes to the Immigration Rules regarding the Tier 2 (General) visa and replaced it with the Skilled Worker visa. We reviewed the proposed changes and advised our client that the best option for her would be to wait until the new rules came into effect and apply under the Skilled Worker visa rules.

Following the changes to the Immigration Rules, we advised our client regarding the relevant supporting documents needed for a successful application. We noted that there were similarities to the Tier 2 (General) visa, and that the client therefore should not find it difficult to provide the required documents.

Once the documents were provided to us, we were able to review the documentation and provide feedback to her. While she gathered the remaining documents, we prepared the online visa application form and our legal representations, which were finalised upon the client providing us with the final documents.

The Outcome

Following a wait of two weeks after her biometric appointment at the visa application centre, our client was advised that her application was successful, and she was now free to enter the UK and take up her employment.

Our client was extremely grateful for the seamless service that she received from us and said that she would be recommending us to her friends for any UK-based immigration issues.
